Introduction

Izik Lambez (b. Tel Aviv, 1970) is a painter and sculptor based in La Gomera, Canary Islands, where he currently lives and works.
He began his artistic career at the age of 15 as an apprentice to the hyperrealist painter Joshua Griffit. He later collaborated for more than 20 years with the renowned international painter and sculptor Menashe Kadishman, participating in numerous artistic projects.
Having lived and worked in Israel, Greece, Spain, Brazil, and the Canary Islands, Lambez’s work carries a distinctly multicultural imprint. His paintings and sculptures are shaped by encounters across diverse landscapes and traditions, weaving together Mediterranean light, Atlantic horizons, and the textures of Latin America.
“I believe that my artistic creation lies in this fragile balance between that which happens by itself and my actions.” – Izik Lambez
He currently runs his own sculpture and painting studio in Alajeró, which is open to the public by appointment, which can be made by telephone or email.
“In Izik Lambez, I met a painter and craftsman, who dedicates himself to his family and to art, which is his way of life.
The past does not concern him, he is an artist who paints without feelings of guilt. He loves and paints, paints and loves.
Izik Lambez belongs to the generation of the beginning of the millennium, a generation that does not live in a small swamp of wars, a generation that wants to paint and live like a bird chirping in the morning in front of the rising sun.
He is definitely one of the first swallows of this generation, which shakes off like a wet animal splashing the drops of the previous century and the previous millennium, a generation to which the future belongs.” – Menashe Kadishman.
